OIL PULLING FOR TEETH AND GUMS

Oil Pulling (or Swishing) is an ancient dental practice from Ayurvedic holistic medicine; but in recent years, it has come front and center stage with natural health advocates.  It’s even  recognized and encouraged by the National Institutes of Health(Click to see research:  http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3131773/  )

“Practitioners of this ancient therapy laud its effectiveness in helping to heal everything from AIDS to diabetes, heart disease to leukemia,”* reports Mike Adams of Natural News.  “Testimonials aside, scientific research has shown oil pulling can vastly improve the condition of the gums and teeth by reducing dental bacteria, viruses and fungi, which in turn fosters overall health.” *  Click for full story:  http://www.naturalnews.com/040293_oil_pulling_cognitive_decline_home_remedies.html

Young Living Distributor, Dolf Cheng offers this Recipe for Oil Pulling with Lemon Oil:

Virgin coconut oil – 1 to 2 TBSP

Young Living Lemon essential oil – 1 to 2 drops

“Drop the Lemon Oil onto the Tablespoon of coconut oil.  Swish inside mouth, between teeth for 10 to 12 minutes. At first, it’s hard to get used to the sensation because of the viscosity of the oils, so I distract my mind by watching a short segment on TV.  Spit, but be careful not to swallow.  Coconut oil is a cold-pressed oil, so it’s not intended to be anti-bacterial like essential oils are.  Oil Pulling “pulls” bacteria from teeth and gums, so you don’t want to ingest it.  Next, brush your teeth with any of the Thieves Toothpastes and Vodka. [Janet’s Note: Final swish with Fresh Essence Mouthwash as alternative to Vodka]. I noticed whiter teeth right after.  Oil pulling helps to eliminate germs in the mouth. Every night would be a good time for this practice.” * ~ Dolf Cheng
